Sunday afternoon when JGR rookie Joey Logano took the green flag he became the youngest driver to ever start the Daytona 500. At 18 years old he is the future of JGR. He has a lot to prove in his rookie year, but he has two great teammates to show him the ropes.
It is no surprise that Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch stepped up to the plate to help Logano but they went above and beyond. In one of the last practices Hamlin took time he could have used to make his car better and allowed himself to be a sounding board for Logano. Busch stepped out of his own car and into Logano’s to see what he was having trouble with.
It is very impressing to see the teamwork coming out of JGR at Daytona. Hamlin stepped up to the role as veteran JGR driver and Busch proved he really can be a nice guy. Let’s hope they continue mentoring Logano, he is going to need it.
